ZIP allows users to use the same targeting tools as they would at present, to identify target market postal sectors. But the product then can offer much, much more. In effect, it provides a unique infrastructure to enable users to target in units as small as 150-200 households, (the final mile targeting requires the use of MOSAIC). Early results are showing that ZIP allows users to potentially increase the potency of their targeting TEN FOLD. But, it doesn’t stop there… ZIP not only has the potential to provide a door drop plan which can outperform the more traditional industry approaches, but it also offers a lot more, including: Yet, it still retains its tremendous flexibility, reliability and accountability. The Letterbox Consultancy is the only door drop supplier in the UK to have an award-winning case history for sub-sector targeted door drops. We have been at the forefront of this exciting development for a long time. We have created a new presentation on ZIP, which we would be delighted to come and present to you and your team, at a date and time to suit. It will take no more than one hour. I am sure when you have seen for yourself what ZIP can do, you will be seriously appraising your future approach to your door drop campaigns, whether you be an existing user or not. Maximising household penetration levels within specified postcode areas, is a key requisite of such organisations and our unique planning skills enable us to propose a range of options to help achieve such objectives. Building upon the strengths of the three core distribution disciplines, packages can be enhanced by the inclusion of simple added value extras and any number of our clients within these business areas will testify to the quality of service and packages provided. Many local authorities, in particular, have been genuinely astounded at the improvement in the perception of distribution quality within their council areas and have retained our services on long term, often rolling contracts. We also now have door drop research available, undertaken by an independent research company, dedicated to local authority publications, which is unique in its content. The research contains fascinating facts on distribution options and efficiency and the consumers reaction to such publications. A FREE executive summary is available upon written application. A full version of the report will be provided to potential clients who request a speculative door drop proposal from us. Contact us now for further details.
These testimonials speak for themselves : -
“The Letterbox Consultancy were appointed a couple of years ago, to handle the door-to-door distribution of our quarterly newsletter, implementing a change in the methodology used. They have consistently provided an effective way to reach residents with a reliable service that has kept us posted at all times”.
“Since revolutionising our ability to match actual distribution to our target area several years ago, The Letterbox Consultancy have worked systematically to increase our level of household penetration. Despite an immediate print saving of over 15%, we are now achieving approximately 96% penetration, at an overall cost between half and two thirds that paid by many similar local authorities. The level of complaints has been all but non existent and any last minute changes of plan, requests, crises or printing disasters, are always greeted with good humour and the essential can-do approach”.
"The Letterbox Consultancy has handled the distribution of our 100,000 award winning, bi-monthly residents' magazine, since its launch in 2000. Their professionalism and willingness to take responsibility for their service stand out. This is not an easy task, but The Letterbox Consultancy perform it exceptionally high standards".
These testimonmials were first sourced in 2004 and we are proud to confirm that in 2009, all three Councils are still clients. Any many more besides! Year on year we win local and regional authority door drop contracts, by demonstrating a thorough understanding of their requirements, based upon years of experience. We would be delighted to be able to bring that experience to bear on your door drop activity.
A test matrix would reveal the value of various door–drop options and could help shape your future door-drop activity. Testing alternative options would establish whether your current methods of distribution really are the best to achieve your objectives or whether there are even more appropriate, cost effective solutions.

KNOCK & DROP/INTERACTIVE
SAMPLING Knock and drop, is a system whereby field staff knock on consumers’ doors, ask a short series of filter questions and dependent upon the answers provided, which are all recorded, reward the consumer with either a sample or coupon. If your sample is too large to fit through a letterbox (tinned pet food) or toxic (household cleaning materials) this could provide a perfect solution. Interactive, is a system whereby a bespoke carrier bag, carrying your
company name and details but also including a question panel, is dropped
through the letterbox, asking the consumer to complete the questionnaire
and hang the bag out of their letterbox the following morning. A distributor
then places the product sample in the bag, as determined by the answers.
Razors, books, chocolates and even light bulbs have been placed with
eager consumers using this technique.
Across our wide range of clients, we have worked extensively with MOSAIC, ACORN and CAMEO driven targeting plans and have the ability to source data for each system externally if required. In addition, if the use of specific targeting models such as Scottish or London MOSAIC is applicable, then these systems will equally be considered.
Some of our most successful media plans have however been driven by targeting data sourced directly from the client or their agency. In such circumstances, we are totally relaxed about the client providing the postal sector identities, to which we assign door drop options and recommendations. Many clients are happier to provide their own targeting solutions and we are equally at home with such a concept.
Whilst virtually all door drop activity is driven by postal sector data and coverage, there is an increasingly significant level of sub sector data now available throughout the UK, enabling door drops to be targeted to hundreds of households, rather than thousands.
We have been at the forefront of this exciting development and have an award winning case history from BBC Education, which clearly demonstrates the power of sub sector targeting, which we are happy to present to interested clients.
